I am the founder of the VGEC (Videogame Enthusiasts' Committee). I'm a fan of the videogame companies Namco and Capcom. Other than that, I'm just an average Newgrounder. P.S. I know it's Namco Bandai but correct me and I'll split your head like a melon

What it is:
Reviewing is what I enjoy but what does it all mean when something is "reviewed"? It plain and simple that a review is an opinionated observation of what the reviewer felt. Whether what was reviewed was good or not is not entirely the truth behind a review. An intentionally helpful review serves as a guide to what you may expect in the piece you are endulging in whether it is art, a game, or movie.

The Restraints of a Review:
The only restraint is how much you can say and believe. Don't let the common thought(s) sway the direction and overall message of your review and afterall it is YOUR review. Don't be nervous of verball retaliation or the ironic opinion of a review. Opinionating a review is sheerly redundant and truly worthless flabs of text that consist of nothing but insults or nonsensical typings are none of your concern and what happens will happens.

The Content Dilema:
Biased reviews are apparent or blatently obvious and they are not part of the formula for a review but does it reflect your opinion? Why, yes it does. It's pretty unfortunate for one to be biased and deprive content of its notoriety just for that very reason. If it is not something that you can deal with rationally you should probably review content you are more secure and open to so honesty may flourish to the brim. That leads me to the next topic.

Adult Content vs. Mature Content:
You may notice content deemed "racy" is given a big red Adult Content button. This is only a tag and a forewarnign to what is to come but what of Mature Content? Adult Content is commonly linked with pornography (that of the sense of nudity and sexually explicit content) but why does the Mature content get by without its own large and noticeable button? Mature content is more associative to violence and language and people can find that just as equally offensive as pornography. I'm discomforted by pornography and do my damndest to avoid it to stray from being biased and detterring the score of the content due to my own hang-ups but I can dig violence. But why is it one gets the slap on the wrist and the other a large and foreboding button as if its approval to exist on a site be no less than reluctant? Biased may be?

Standards to Content:
Delivering the message is what I like and effort is what really satisfies the pallette. Was this work painstakingly put together? That is the question I prose to myself when I endulgein Newground's (and other sites) content. Effort, I'll say, definately does not serve the purpose of giving content the coveted perfect 10 but ensures empathy and will surely never let a hard day's work fail. It is a redemption, not a savior.

Comments to Reviews:
The review space in a grand majority of the time seems to be a sheer comment space to a user(s)' content as if it were a News Post. A review is thorough understanding and observation from experience but a comment is just a comment or more fittingly a statement. "WOOT THIS SHIT IS EPIC WIN, LULZ" is a definately a bright opinion but what backs it up, what is the reason for such short and sweet accolades? It's not always so optimistic in the sense of referring to the content as "utter shit" or "trash" that I need not demostrate for ALOT of internet content is teeming with it and you most ikely have seen this yourself. We should leave the Review space for reviews and not short and unreasonably suffice statements, that doesn't mean you need to write a novel of a review, just a more thorough and observational standpoint. A few sentences wouldn't kill you.

Review wih Style:
How do you review? That is a question I ask latently to you. Think of how you review something, how you summarize and explain. You can nitpick content apart and be so very precise or you can summarize as a whole. Anyway you do it is how you should do it. Be comfotable with your synopsis and how you bring it out. I personally like generalizing and do a bit of nitpicking, I feel it to be most effective but you may disagree; it's completely fine. Just make sure your review is a...well...review.

Useless to Helpful:
If a review is an honest to goodness understanding, neither the aspect of helpfulnss or uselessness ever apply. People are giving their ironic opinions of a review. Opinionating an opinion is so redundant and that should never jeoardize the message of your outlooks. People find this review useless...because they can't accept differing opinions and tastes. A terrible system altogether and that's why we are able to tag useless jumbles of typings instead of undermining someone's genuine outlook and criticism.

Review to a Niche:
Not really discussing anything here but just posting a little picture of my favorite reviewist who is sadistic because it's funny, not that the content is bad! Mr. Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw. A pure testament to the diverse and poetic plight and power of the ever anticipated review:

I've made some final changes to the VGEC List Index. It now includes the farewell page and a list of our former members. I'll tweek the index if I didn't include some of them. But I think I got them all.n So go ahead and look around in there if you want. You might be entertained for a while thinking who or what made each of our lists.

VGEC List Index.

So enjoy your time there (insert username here) and appreciate the work that we had brought to gamers of new and old.

Well it looks like the VGEC is disbanded. That's all friends. Sorraw sorraw and all that jazz. So enjoy all that we managed to contribute to the Newgrounds community in the name of gamers of new and old in our VGEC List Index.

I want to thank all of our members for contributing (they know who they are) and to wish them all happy and fulfilling lives wherever they may go or do.

I leave you with a song that I had held dear and cherrished throughout my entire life in the musical style of kings and one more because I love it so much. For my last message ladies and gentlmen, I give you Mario Minor by Powerglove and Queen of Rose by Daisuke Ishiwatari.

If you want the position, consult him if he is not interested. I will only return to update on the VGEC's new leader. Also, the VGEC List Index and Navigation page is now under The lightning55's ownership.

Maybe another list idea is in order for the VGEC. Let's go along with a fun idea that Thelightning55 came up with.

-Best Games for Blowing S**t Up (due January 6)

I guess my fighting character list was less accesible. So see what you can do with this one.

List calling.

-Favorite Fighting Game Characters (due January 2nd)

Feel free to go crazy with this one.

Your favorite idols of the big screen or even the books were also some of the most beloved or even notorious videogame characters in their day. Let's delve into our favorites.

My Submissions:

Journey-Journey the Arcade Game
It's apparent that Journey was so goddamn big back in the 80's that they even spawned their own game. Although pretty bad, the band still rocks.

The Simspons-The Simpsons Arcade Game
An awesome beat-em-up featuring everyone's favorite yellow family. The game allowed you to utilize each Simpson member (except Maggie) and their unique abilities. You can even pair them up for super attacks that put the hurt on Burns' cronies.

Tony Hawk-Tony Hawk Proskater Series
The Hawk was definitely the king of the vert-ramp but he was also the head of a profitable videogame franchise; especially in the 90s. But Tony Hawk wasn't the only skater; let's not forget favorites such as
Careem Cambel or Mike Valley.

Jean Simmons and Iron Man-Tony hawk Underground
The ton-tongue rocker and the man in the iron suit caught some serious air (and dirt) with their trademark tricks. Such as Jean Simmons tongue grabs and Iron Man's scanner-to-methods. It's more fun than it sounds to play as them.

Spiderman-Tony hawk Proskater 2
The web-slinger could ride my friends. Pitted against the Hawk or the Spider, the Spider is the champ.

Thelightning55's Submissions:

Michael Jackson- Moonwalker
A (less than) fabulous game for the NES, in Moonwalker you play as Michael Jackson (no duh) and save little kids from closets and use special dance moves. An interesting..er...concept no doubt, but It really makes you wonder how those kids got in there in the first place.

Leonard Nimoy- Civilization IV
This one you probably looked over. The narrations and those quotes, along with a few other clips. Narrated by the one and only Spock! Yep, next time you play, listen closely to the narration and see if you can tell. Things like these pop up in little places.

Bruce Lee- Bruce Lee
Now this one is a LITTLE more obvious. See it? It's Chuck Norris. No. Yes Bruce Lee starred in his game of the same name originally published for the Apple 2 (I think)...but you could never tell with the graphics. At least the title should have given you the hint.

Drew Carey- The Sims: House Party
If your Sim is throwing a rocking party in this sim game, Drew Carey may just show up and mingle with the guests! A nice cameo indeed.

Shaquille O'Neal- Shaq-Fu
For lack of a better example, Shaq makes an appearance in Shaq-Fu. But the game sucked so bad this doesn't need a long or detailed description.

Chillbro's Submissions:

Tiger Woods-Tiger Woods PGA series
Well, I guess the golfer has his own video games now.

John Cena-Smackdown vs Raw series and other wrestling games
Well, it was obvious this guy would be in a wrestling game.

Will Wright-The Simpsons Game
He was only seen in one level, and he wanted to kill the 8-bit Simpsons.

Matt Groening-Another Simpsons Game character
Matt Groening made a cameo in a game based off of his series. Even after he got fired.....

God-Many Games
Well whether he's real or not, he can be considered somewhat of a celebrity. He notably appears in many games, such as the family guy game.

Hellboundsoul07's Submissions:

Eminem
Appears in 50 Cent: Bulletproof which welllll, was an alright game I guess.
Katt Williams & Ricky Gervais(count it as a 6th if you wish)
These two appear in the comedy clubs of GTA 4

Eightball6219's Submissions:

Ron Perlman- best know for Hellboy and the narrator in the Fallout series, ol' Ronny apparently made a apperance in Halo 3 as Fleet Admiral Hood.
Jack Black- best known for his awesome game Brutal Legend, but Black does make smaller apperances in lesser games usually ones from the movie he was in.

Ray Liotta
Any don't know who he is so he was the asshole detective in Observe and Report and he was Shoeless Joe Jackson in Field of Dreams. He voice was the antihero Tommy Vercetti in GTA Vice City

James Woods- Peter Griffin's ex-best friend and voice of Hades in Hercules, had cameos in Sacry Movie, Contact, and John Q to name a few. His best know game voice is GTA San Andreas as Mike Toreno.

Liam Neeson
He was the bad guy in the first new Batman movie and Qui-Gon Jin in Episode I. It's a no brainer what I might have chosen as his game voice which is Qui-Gon, but he did a much better job as the Lone Wanderer's father in Fallout 3

Samuel Jackson- Mother Fuckin' Jackson know for many movies cause..well it ain't a movie without him. His voice is known for Mace Windu, but was also in GTA San Andreas as Officer Tenpenny and the voice of Afro Samurai.

Brian Cox- Brian Cox has had many roles in movies, but best known is the role of William Stryker in X2 and Ward Abbot in the Bourne series. His voice was that of the Helghast Lord in Killzone 1 & 2.

The Best Voice: Ozzy Osbourne- If you don't know who he is then where have you been? He's the Prince of Darkness and one of two key people who made Black Sabbath what it is and is best known for songs Iron Man and Crazy Train. In Jack Black's game Brutal Legend he played the Guardian of Metal where when you first meet him you here the same laugh you hear at the beginning of Crazy Train followed by Ozzy forming from Lava and saying to you "Well, it's about Fucking!" Genius. Too bad he couldn't get over his feud with Dio. The two of them as bickering Guardians would have been funny too.

So my apologies to all of my contributing for waiting like an entire month for this list see the light of day. I'm going to do better for this committee. As a condolence I'm posting this rad-ass song for you guys. The song is titled Metal Kombat for the Mortal Man by Powerglove. It is a fusion of the Mortal Kombat theme and Metal Man's theme form Megaman 2.

P.S. I'm not marking this list as complete. I'm gonna give my members a few days to see if I forgot some submissions or if they want to add more.

I've been doing a really bad job as our leader so I'm not being lazy anymore. I'm putting the VGEC back into action and getting this goddamn list done. So I'm going to go through all of the submissions and compile this list and do my damndest to get this done after school and put it into our index. Plus I'm going to finish up Liu Kang's Hall of Gaming Profile since I didn't pass up that deadline.

P.S. This song is just epic and I love posting it. This song is Queen of Rose by Daisuke Ishiwatari.

A new VGEC section I might commission. It's called "When I Feel Like It", a review section that allows any member to post a review completely made by them from any game at any time period. 4 months after a game's release or even four years years. Do it when you Feel Like It and give a congregated score out of ten or whatever you want because it's your review. But I would like to seem some truly thorough reviews that are in turn unbiased and this is no opportunity to take advantage and completley bash a game to death. All reviews will go into the VGEC list index. I want a vote on this by my VGEC members because I won't commission something without them knowing. Voting will end after this list. Plus, check out Thelightning55 for our next poll and eightball6219 and suggest a videogame clash-up. The new section (if commissioned will start after our celebrity cameo list (which should be up by tonight).

Additionally our next inductee in the VGEC Hall of Gaming is Mortal Kombat's Liu Kang. HIs page will go up before Christmas.

P.S. I got dibs on Super Smash Bros. Brawl for a review.

A New Section.

Celebrity Cameo Submissions by THIS Monday. We're gonna make this list and I'm giving no deadline-extensions! I don't wanna have to PM everybody about this. So until then enjoy this piece of music by Daisuke Ishiwatari form Blazblue (which I'm getting this Sunday).
